Great news for overseas fans who can't get enough of former street musician Carlos Guitarlos! Proper Distribution released Hell Can Wait in the UK on Monday, March 6th! Proper has also networked with distributors in other territories and the CD is set to be released across Europe thereafter! The Benelux region is, as always, very supportive of Carlos, and a large number of CDs were imported to reflect that. After a massive radio campaign in both the Blues and Adult Album Alternative (AAA) markets, Hell Can Wait maintains its momentum and charts at #12 for the month of October on the Living Blues Radio Airplay Chart. The album is getting significant spins on AAA radio and is gaining momentum! Reports to follow.

Nomad Records hammers out an exclusive deal with Proper Distribution (UK) to release Hell Can Wait. Proper is the biggest independent distributor in the United Kingdom, and they are very excited about putting out the new CD! Look for Nomad Records and Proper Distribution to make some serious noise in the UK in early 2006!

The long awaited follow-up to the critically acclaimed Straight from the Heart is set to hit the streets on September 13th. The new album Hell Can Wait features guests David Hidalgo (Los Lobos), Gene Taylor (The Blasters, Fabulous Thunderbirds), and Marcy Levy (Eric Clapton, Shakespear's Sister). The album will be available at all retail stores, Amazon.com, CDBaby.com, and right here on this website!

In front of a capacity crowd at the Henry Fonda Theater, Carlos Guitarlos is announced as the winner of the LA Weekly Music Award for Best Contemporary Blues/R&B Artist. Other artists on hand to entertain the enthusiastic crowd were Brian Wilson, X, Flea, and many others. Carlos tunes up his acceptance speech skills in preparation for the 2006 Grammy Awards!

Carlos is nominated for an LA Weekly Music Award in the Best Contemporary Blues/R&B Artist. Winners are to be announced June 2005.

Recording for Carlos' follow-up to Straight from the Heart has concluded, but not before we managed to squeeze in David Hidalgo of Los Lobos on a couple of tracks. The new disc is set to be released later this year. Look for it to make even more noise than the last!

Plans for a UK/European tour are in the works for late summer 2005 after the resounding success of Straight from the Heart overseas. Tentative plans have been made for festival stops in Belgium and the UK to start things off right. The Mission District never seemed so far away. Wish him well!

Carlos' trip to the UK is an overwhelming success! His appearance on more than a dozen BBC stations, combined with a sold-out show at the famous Borderline (for which he recieved a 5-STAR REVIEW in the London Times) results in Carlos being asked for his autograph on the streets of London! At the invite of Sir Elton John, Carlos and his bandmate Marcy Levy attend a dinner in his honor!

Straight from the Heart takes off in Austria and Sweden. The CD becomes one of the top titles for its Austrian distributor, and the Swedes are lining up to interview the album's mastermind!

Carlos Guitarlos has been selected to perform at the Americana Music Association Conference in Nashville, Tennessee (Sept. 23-25). Other artists chosen to perform include Mindy Smith, Delbert McClinton, Dave Alvin, Jay Farrar, Slaid Cleaves, Billy Joe Shaver, Michelle Shocked, and Junior Brown.

Straight from the Heart is generating a lot of attention in the UK since its release by Hot Records. The London Times called it a "Roots Rock masterpiece... that takes you to a better place" in its 5-star rating. BBC Radio has also taken a liking to the CD, and Carlos is the subject of a live interview on BBC Radio 6 on the Phill Jupitus Morning Show.
